Self-Guided First Day Hike Photo Scavenger Hunt

Spend the first day of 2024 exploring the park!
Come to Headquarters to pick up your scavenger hunt sheet, then start exploring the park! Take pictures of items on the scavenger hunt list, then return to HQ to show your pictures to a ranger or volunteer to receive your First Day Hike sticker!
Meet: at the park Headquarters
Bring: Water, comfortable walking shoes, bug spray, sun protection, weather appropriate clothes, and a phone or camera. If you do not have a camera, bring a writing utensil to draw what you see instead.
Time: This will only be offered while HQ is open, from 8:30am-4:30pm. Be sure to complete the scavenger hunt in that time to obtain your First Day Hike sticker!
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Children under two years of age must be seated on the lap of a guardian.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Large groups please contact Sara Rock (sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov) for a private event.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
