Texas' original Winter Texans, Whooping Cranes, have returned!
Join outreach biologist Paityn Bower for a guided walk around 12th Street for a look at one of America's rarest birds. Get a lesson in crane behavior and help with making observations that contribute to crane research.

When: 8:30-9:30am, most Wednesdays
Where: Meet at the Big Tree parking lot
Bring: Sun protection, hydration, bug spray, walking shoes, binoculars if you have them.
Accessibility: Accessible parking at Big Tree. The road is relatively flat, however there is no sidewalk. For more details on accessibility, contact Sara Rock.
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Groups larger than eight please contact Sara Rock for a private event.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
