Hill Country Hike the Hills

First Day Hike in the Hill Country trekking the scenic West Peak Overlook Trail. Experience a fun way to start off the New Year with a guided hike on a wonderful trail with a spectacular view.

Start the New Year with a guided hike through the hill country.

View the impressive peaks and valleys of the Texas Hill Country on this hike to the West Peak Overlook and the Merrick Mile trails. 

The hike does include elevation changes and steep sections along the trail. Much of the trek does include rocky and uneven walking surfaces. 

Distance: total of 3 miles

We will meet at the Hill Country SNA Headquarters.

Please remember to bring with you: Plenty of water, dress for the weather. Wear comfortable shoes for hiking. Camera, binoculars, Hiking poles or staff.

Cost: This program is free with park admission ($6 for visitors 13 years and older, free for those 12 years and younger; free to State Park Pass holders). Day-use reservations are highly recommended to ensure your entrance into the SNA.
