Join us at the Lodge and learn about the history of the CCC in Huntsville State Park. And why they were called Roosevelt’s Tree Army.
Created as a source of jobs for young men and US veterans, they helped reforest the US and build park infrastructure at both National Parks and State Parks. Twenty-nine Texas State Parks were created by members of the CCC. Huntsville stands out for the unique company that served here.
Walking tours will be given at 10am, 12pm and 2pm in Ravens Lodge, built by the CCC. Between that there will be exhibits and hands on activities.
This activity is indoors and accessible. It is free with your day pass into the park.
