Spring Break Canoeing in Lake Raven

Join us for paddling safety lesson at the Boathouse and a chance to explore Lake Raven.

Huntsville State Park was built with the intent to be a source of water recreation for locals. This led to the largest contribution from the Civilian Conservation Corps, the building of the dam and spillway that helped create Lake Raven. In addition to that work, the CCC built the Boathouse that provides boat rental opportunities to guests.

During this event we will go over water safety, fitting a PFD, basic paddle strokes and then give you an opportunity to paddle on Lake Raven. This activity is outdoors and weather dependent, follow us on social media for updates. Recommend closed toe shoes that can get wet, wear sun protection, and bring water. Program and rental equipment is free during the program with your pass. This program is not accessible.
