Learn how to cast a fishing pole, identify common fish species of Texas, and understand fishing regulations. 

This is not an actual fishing event, but it is a great way to get better at casting a fishing pole, identify common fish species of Texas, and understand fishing regulations. After practicing, check out a loaner pole from the Park Store (between 18:30am and 5pm) to do some real fishing.

Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. On busy weekends, reserve your day pass early online! Please note: You do not need to register or make a reservation for this event, just be sure you have a day pass purchased for everyone attending.
