Explore the old golf course and soon to be new day use area with park rangers and volunteers

Do you love kayaking? Enjoy working with kids? Enjoy peaceful walks on scenic trails? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

The Friends of Inks Lake State Park (FOIL) is seeking volunteers who are passionate about the outdoors. Whether you're a birder, angler, hiker, or simply someone who enjoys nature and wants to help promote outdoor recreation and education, our Friends of Inks Lake (FOIL) would love to have you.

We’ll walk the property, learn about the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s plans for future expansion, and hear from the park interpreter about how the land will be developed for much needed additional day use. You’ll also have a chance to talk with current volunteers about what it’s like to be part of FOIL and the many ways you can get involved.

Location: The former golf course property on Park Road 4 North of the main park entrance.

Bring: Water, a hat, sunscreen, and comfy shoes.

Admission to the volunteer recruitment event is free. However, If you would like to enter the park after the event admission is $7 per person 13 years of age and older. Guests 12 and younger are free.

Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. On busy weekends, reserve your day use pass early online!
