Listen to Ranger Jamie teach about some native snakes, and why you just might relate to some of their personalities!

One of the first questions you might be asking when you go into nature is.... are there snakes?!! Well the answer is yes, there are snakes almost anywhere in Texas, but if you come to this program you'll learn about a few of the snakes you could possibly see here at Inks Lake SP. Even more than that though, you'll learn why they're important in the ecosystem and some of their behaviors (which can actually be somewhat compared to some of the people you might have known in school believe it or not). This is a fun and interactive program for all ages!

*On certain Saturdays, Luna the Western Hognose snake might even make an appearance too!

Meet at Central Park (by restroom number 4 and the playground)

Cost: Free with park admission, and park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. On busy weekends, reserve your day use pass early online! Please note: You do NOT need to register or make a reservation for this event, just be sure you have a day pass purchased for everyone attending.

Don't forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for all the latest information about park events!

All events subject to cancellation due to inclement weather, or possibly relocated to the Park Store Porch.
