Night Hike
Sun, March 10, 2024
Join Ranger Jamie on a night hike! We will talk about nocturnal creatures and see if we hear or see any on the trail!
Come join the first night hike of the year! We will be learning about nocturnal creatures, using UV lights to try to spot insects that glow in the dark, and hopefully hear or even catch a glimpse of nighttime critters.
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: We will be hiking the Lake/Upper Fisherman's Trail (1 mile), which is an easy trail with moderate spots, with a fair amount of hiking. This particular hike may not be suitable for everyone; strollers and wheelchairs are also not recommended. I would also request only older children (8+) participate due to the length and difficulty. Sorry, no pets will be allowed on this hike.
Difficulty: easy-moderate
Length: 1 mile and approximately 2 hours of hiking (we will be stopping to look at cool things!)
Meet: Directions on where to park will be emailed with confirmation of your reservation.
Bring: Water, good hiking shoes, regular flashlight and RED flashlights!
Cost: Free with park admission, and park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. On busy weekends, reserve your day use pass early online!
Don't forget to follow us on Facebook for all the latest information about park events!
All events subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
