Help us count butterflies and flowers in the park!

Join the Texas Master Naturalists: Rolling Plains Chapter and rangers as we look for butterflies, bees, and flowers!

What is a BioBlitz? During a BioBlitz, we try and identify as many different species of nectar-producing plants and pollinators (bees, butterflies, wasps, etc) as we can, and log them using the app iNaturalist. More information here: https://tpwd.texas.gov/education/bioblitz

Meet: Outside the administration building, by the floating docks.

What to expect: We will begin and end at the administration building, most likely making our way to the campground restroom and back. Most of the route is on pavement or level trail. Total miles may be around 1.5-2 miles depending on weather and the group. Typically counts do not last the entire time period, so participants are welcome to come and go as they like.

What to bring: Your smartphone (with iNaturalist downloaded) and/or a camera. Binoculars are helpful as well. Water and good walking shoes recommended.

This program is free to attend with paid park entrance or a Texas State Park Pass.
