Nature Investigator Hike (Reservation Required)
Sat, November 22, 2025
Join us to help record the biodiversity at our newly acquired property and learn to use citizen science apps that can help you identify plants and wildlife while also aiding the scientific community!
We are excited to announce we will be offering yet another opportunity for Park Visitors to get to explore the newest addition to Lake Brownwood State Park! In addition to getting to explore this property, park visitors will also get to learn about the flora and fauna of this property and will help us catalog this information for our ongoing iNaturalist project! If you are unfamiliar with this app, or it's sister app Seek, Ranger George will walk you through how to use it! These apps are both excellent ways to identify wildlife, plants, fungi, and other organisms you are unfamiliar with anywhere in the world! Even if you are familiar with a species, cataloging it with this app can be very useful for biologists and ongoing conservation projects. This is a reservation only hike, so please call our office at (325) 784-5223 to reserve your spot today! Due to the sensitive natural and cultural resources present at the new property, no pets will be allowed on this hike. Like the Sneak-Peek Hike, participants will meet Ranger George at the Park Headquarters and will follow him to the new property in their own vehicle.
