National Kids in the Park Day: Reading with a Ranger
Sat, May 17, 2025
Join us today to be part of this National event to get kids into parks. We want you to explore Lake Whitney at this state park and relax in nature while listening to Ranger Lory read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book by Eric Carle.
This family friendly illustrated book incorporates early childhood learning elements of counting, days of the week, foods and of course the life cycle of a butterfly.
This free event will take place at the Towash Day Use area located by the boat ramp.
The large group of picnic tables nestled under the huge oak tree will be a great place to listen to this story.
Feel free to bring your own camp chair or a blanket to be more comfortable.
Reserve day passes online or contact our reservations center at (512) 389-8900, Monday - Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Don't forget to stop by the office to get your entrance permit before you join us to hear this fun story.
