Discover your park with ASL interpreters! Registration required.
Together with the Texas Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities, Lockhart State Park is hosting a special day of programs for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community on September 28. Join us to learn more about state parks, take a guided hike, enjoy hands-on activities, discover the park’s history, and more! Parks will have ASL Interpreters at activities, but for other reasonable modification requests or information related to accessibility, visit TPWD Accessibility.

The event is free, and park entrance fees will be waived for all registered participants.
Event Schedule
10am: Welcome and kickoff at the park’s Recreation Hall. Booths and self-guided activities for kids will be available here until 1pm.
10:30am – 11:30am: Guided Hike, Creekview Trailhead. Take a 0.75-mile hike with a ranger and explore the plants and animals that call Lockhart SP home.
11:30am – 12:30pm: Archery, near the park pool. Drop in between 11:30am and 12:30pm! Appropriate for ages 10 and up. At the archery range behind the pool.
12:00pm – 1:00pm: Block printing. Try your hand at this unique art technique! At the Recreation Hall.
12:30pm – 1:00pm: Ranger Talk: The Civilian Conservation Corps at Lockhart SP. Discover the legacy of the CCC! At the Recreation Hall.
