Solar Celebration!

Join us to view the rare solar eclipse happening on Monday, April 8th! We will be giving away FREE eclipse viewing glasses, while supplies last. Drop in any time between 12:30-2:30pm.

Take a closer look at the eclipse through our telescope, explore eclipse shadows and temperature changes, and try your hand at some eclipse-inspired arts and crafts! We will be giving away FREE eclipse viewing glasses, while supplies last. All ages welcome. This event is rain or shine.

Please Note: this is a total solar eclipse, but Lockhart State Park is not in the path of totality. Therefore, for us it will be a partial solar eclipse (~99.5% sun coverage).  

Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water. There is no pre-registration for this program. Just drop in between 12:30-2:30pm!

Meet: In the picnic area of the park. If driving from park HQ, pass the pool and take your first right-hand turn into the picnic area parking lot.

Fees: This program is free with entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
