Homeschool Class - Astronomy
Thu, January 11, 2024
Explore the mysteries of space with special guests from the Austin Nature and Science Center! Registration required.
Lockhart State Park’s homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades 1-5. Classes are usually held on the first full week of the month (September through April), and you can choose between Tuesday at 10am, Wednesday at 2pm, or Thursday at 10am. We cover a different topic every month, so don’t miss out!
January’s topic is astronomy with the Austin Nature and Science Center. Step inside their mobile planetarium to learn about stars, constellations, and our amazing solar system!
Please Note: This class will only be offered on Tuesday (at 2pm!) and Thursday (at 10am). There will be no Wednesday class this month.
Registration: Program space is limited, so registration is required. Registration is online only. Please click here to register! Please register only if you’re sure your student can attend, and if your plans change, please email lauren.hartwick@tpwd.texas.gov or call 512-398-3479 to cancel so that another child can have that spot.
Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water.
Meet: In the Park Recreation Hall. Please Note: this is different from our usual meeting location! To get to the Rec Hall, follow Park Road 10 all the way to the top of the hill.
Fees: This class is free with entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
