Time Travelers Hike
Sat, November 22, 2025
Hear the story of the Civilian Conservation Corps and discover their legacy in this engaging hike!
Join our master naturalists on a hike back through time. You'll be transported back in time nearly 90 years and learn about life in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Hikers will learn the history of the program, the daily life of participants, the program's impacts on state parks in Texas as well as the legacy these hard working individuals left behind. All ages welcome.
Prepare: Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Bring water and apply sunscreen or bug repellent, as needed. The hike is 3/4-mile on moderate terrain. No registration required.
Meet: Meet your guide at the Creekview Trailhead. If driving from park headquarters, take your first left-hand turn, pass the campgrounds, and park along the paved loop.
Fees: This program is free with paid entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
This hike is brought to you by the Lost Pines Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists volunteer organization (click here to learn more) in partnership with Lockhart State Park.
Please note: no actual time travel will take place during this hike.
