First Day Bird Walk

It's a new year -- time to start your yearly bird list!

Whether you're a lifelong birder looking to start your 2026 bird list early or someone new to the hobby and unfamiliar with the joy of observing and identifying the birds around you - this easy walk along our nature trail will be a good introduction or refresher to observing our avian friends.

Everyone is welcome to join us on this first day program at LBJ State Park.

We'll focus on birds -- or anything else that catches our eye!

We'll have some binoculars to borrow -- but bring your own binos if you've got them.

• Meet: at the Visitor Center
• Distance: about 1 mile (easy)
• Fee: Free(!) and reservations are not required.
