Live blacksmithing & spinning demonstrations at the Sauer-Beckmann Farm!
Listen to the sound of metal ringing on the anvil as park rangers demonstrate the basics of blacksmithing. See how metal was heated and shaped to form common tools and items that would be used on the farm. Learn about blacksmithing at our early 1900s blacksmith shop.
Be mesmerized by spinning wheels, as they whir and click turning cotton and wool into thread and yarn. Learn how these fibers go from their natural state into something we use every day!
This is a demonstration only, no hands-on opportunities.
Visitors can come and go as they please while visiting the farm.
