How did these rocks get here? Join us to learn more about the geology of McKinney Falls!

Join Capitol Area Master Naturalist Tracey for a guided hike around the park! With stops at the Rock Shelter and the Lower Falls, we will dive into the geology of the park, learn about different types of rocks, limestone formation, volcanic remnants, and more! 

  • Meet: Visitor Center back patio
  • Bring: Plenty of water, good hiking shoes, dress for the weather
  • Duration: About a .75-mile hike that should last just over an hour

Event is Free with paid entrance fees; Adults: $6, Children 12 and under: Free.

*Parents must accompany all minors. Recommended for 10 years old and up
