Girl Scouts Love State Parks!

Every year on the second weekend of September, Girl Scout troops across Texas flock to their local state parks for a weekend full of outdoor fun and conservation education.

This year, Meridian State Park is proud to partner with the Central Texas Council to host a special Fishing 101 program—perfect for scouts who are brand new to fishing or just need a friendly refresher!

We’ll cover the basics, from casting to conservation, and help scouts build the confidence to enjoy this classic outdoor skill. 
Here’s what you need to know... 

Meet: 10:00 am @ the Lakeside Day Use Area

Bring: Sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, close-toed shoes, fishing gear, and bait.

Cost: A $7.00 registration fee with the Girl Scouts of Central Texas council to purchase your badge, plus $5.00 per adult fora park entrance ticket. If you do not register, this program is free with purchase of a park entrance ticket.\

Note: There is a limited amount of loaner gear available for use. Please bring your own gear if you have it. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
