Have you ever wanted to stand in the shoes of a park ranger? Here is your chance! Join a ranger for an introduction to the Junior Ranger program. This program is recommended for ages 6 to 12 years old, with adult supervision.  Stop by park headquarters to check out a junior ranger backpack before the program starts. 

Junior Rangers:

• learn how to protect the park's plants and animals
• teach their families and friends about the park
• follow park rules, protect the park and stay safe.

• We will complete the Observing Wildlife challenge as a group by walking on the day use beach.

• The dune walkover mat provides some accessibility improvements however there is usually some soft sand at the beach end of the mat.  A beach wheelchair is available to check out from headquarters.  Provide an I.D. and park staff can deliver it to the day-use parking lot.

  • Bring: Sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and close toed shoes.
  • Meet: Day Use beach  
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
