Unplug yourself from electronics today and join us on a guided hike!
It's Unplug Texas Day across the state so unplug yourself from electronics today and enjoy the outdoors, the quiet trickle of the river, and the sights and sounds that come with wildlife!
From birds, to mammals, to reptiles, and fish we've got a lot of wild animals in the park. Whether you are an avid birder or a novice, come join Ranger Steve for a guided look along one of our beautiful trails! We'll hike to find the more reclusive birds, sneak along the river to look for fish and reptiles, and explore the falls for the many animals we can find there as well!
- Meet at the Main Falls parking lot to join in!
- After a brief birding lesson and binocular practice, the hike will be about 1.5 - 2 miles.
- This trail is easy at first, but towards the end will be rocky, sandy, and rough. There is a steep downhill portion along a paved/rocky section. To get back up the hill there are stairs at the end.
- The hike will end at the Pedernales Falls, from there you'll be let loose to explore or follow us back up to the parking area nearby.
- Email us if you'd like to reserve a pair of binoculars while you are birding! -stephen.garmon@tpwd.texas.gov
- Dog and kid friendly event. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
- Normal Entrance Fees required to enter the park, no additional fees to attend this event.
- To guarantee entrance to the park, make your reservations here!
