Join us in cleaning up our precious natural water ways.

Saturday Sept. 21st is National Clean-Up Day! We want to invite our visitors to help us clean one of our greatest natural resources, the Pedernales River!

You can help us out in so many different ways during this event. See which you would like to be and sign up!

  • Swimming Stewards - Like to swim? Dive through the river in search of trash in hard to reach places and out in the middle of the river. Bring trash to the shoreline where our Bucket Barons can collect it! Bring swimming trunks, water shoes, and a towel.
  • Bucket Barons -  Hiking along the shoreline you will help us to collect, and get rid of any refuse we find. Swimming Stewards and Brush Bandits will bring what they find to your bucket. We'll provide you with the bucket, extra bags, and a trash grabbing stick. Bring weather appropriate clothing and good shoes for walking through brush.
  • Brush Bandits - Hiking along the shoreline you'll be searching high and low for trash in hard to reach areas. We'll have gloves and a trash grabbing stick for you, be sure to dress for walking through brush. (pants, boots, and long sleeves would be best)

However you would like to help we will be glad to see you on this hike! This should be a 1.5 - 2 mile long hike with some steep inclines to get down into and climb back out of the river.

Meet at the Swimming area Parking lot to join in.

Bring water bottle for drinking water and comfortable clothes.

Volunteers get free entry to the park for this event! RSVP before the event so we can save you some equipment, email Tucker.Reece@tpwd.texas.gov with your name and number of people in your group.
