Come learn about the power of plants!

Join a ranger for a morning hike to learn about the historical use of medicinal plants and edible plants that you can find in East Texas! (Remember, it is illegal to harvest plants in Texas State Parks)

  • Time: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM
  • Meet: Wolfpen Green Trailhead (near firewood vending machine)
  • Bring: Water, sunscreen, bug spray, good hiking shoes, and weather appropriate clothing.
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for ages 13 & older and free for 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass). 

Please note: adult supervision is required for minors.

Purtis Creek has one grit wheelchair readily available for checkout. Please contact Ranger Jenna atJenna.Lombard@tpwd.texas.gov to reserve & check availability.
