Kayak Clean Up - Volunteer Day

Have you ever wanted to make a difference and have fun at the same time?
Take action by joining Rangers and the Texas Conservation Association for a Kayak Clean Up on the Elm Fork Trinity River.

When:
- May 18th - 9AM-12PM
Meet:
- Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Greenbelt Unit - FM 455 Entrance
- Notes on the Location= From the Isle du Bois Unit, the greenbelt unit is about 1 mile west on FM 455.
- Selecting "Ray Roberts Greenbelt Trailhead" in Google Maps GPS will lead you to the correct parking lot.
Who:
- Registered participants
- Kayaking Age Restrictions= Must be 18 or older to kayak alone and 8 or older to be in a tandem kayak with parent/guardian.
(This is NOT a Kayaking 101 or beginner kayaking program - You NEED some experience and comfortable navigating a kayak)
Cost:
- This is considered a volunteer opportunity and entrance fees are waived for registered participants.
- A list of registered participants will be on hand
Additional Info:
- Bring a a reusable water bottle, clothes and shoes that can get wet(YOU WILL GET WET IN KAYAK), and a lunch or snack since we will be ending around lunch time.
- Dress for the weather including hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.
- If the weather is cold, the more layers the better.
- It is best to bring a towel and a change of clothes if you do not want to drive home wet.
- All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to kayaking.
- Please arrive about 15 minutes early to ensure all waivers are signed to be able to start on time.
- Programs are subject to weather cancellation. If temperatures are below 40 F or severe weather is predicted, we will contact you regarding cancellation the day before.
