Veterans Day Ruck Hike

Come together to celebrate those who have served our country with a Veterans Day Ruck Hike challenge!

All are invited to this family friendly Ruck Hike to celebrate our veterans and bring awareness for the weight our service members often carry after their return home.

In addition to the hike, Park Rangers will also be on hand with activities for the whole family!

 

Details:
!!! Due to weather and trail conditions we have altered route minimally
Family & Kid Friendly Ruck Hike
~3 mile loop  (Coyote Run to Swallowtail Trail: Completion time estimated ~1.5 hour)
Bring a backpack or rucksack of any weight and size on your hike
Ruck Hike Challenge to Overlook
~4 mile loop  (Coyote Run to Scenic Overlook back on Swallowtail Trail: Completion time estimated ~2.5 hour) !!Due to weather and trail conditions we will not be returning on Swallowtail Trail, we will return on same trail, Coyote Run!!

Bring:
Backpack, rucksack, or weighted vest with any safe but challenging weight for you and your limitations
Closed toe hiking shoes, water, dress for the weather

11 AM Ruck Hike begins


Where:
Ray Roberts Lake State Park – Greenbelt 428 Entrance
Hikers meet at first picnic table closest to parking lot (look for sign)
