Rio Grande Trail Van Ride

Wed, July 31, 2024

Participants must be able to get into and out of a Ford Transit van and participate in a short 10-minute hike. Wednesdays through Sundays 2:30pm. Click the blue title for more information.

We drive and you ride in our touring van. This trip takes you to the southern-most point of the park, which overlooks the place where Seminole Canyon intersects the Rio Grande River. Your park guide will provide a general overview of the park and its history along the way and will help you spot the famous "feline" pictograph (not a real live mountain lion) of Panther Cave.

Please note, participants will walk along the high canyon rim, if you have extreme fears of heights, this may not be the activity for you.

The Park provides the ride and binoculars, it is high recommended to bring your drinking water and wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers or hiking shoes).

This tour does not go into the canyon and not into Panther Cave itself.

Because this program uses a state vehicle, pets are not allowed. If you have infant to small children, you will need to install and uninstall your car seat (Park does not provide car seat).
