Celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend with Sheldon Lake State Park!

As part of Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend, we present Bug Bonanza!

Brave explorers will meet at the Pond Pavilion to start their journey into the not so small world of insects and other bugs. This multi-station program will take you soaring through the forest and down below the murky waters of our ponds to discover the mysterious lives of macroinvertebrates. 

When: Sunday, September 15, 10:30-11:30 am

Where: Starts under Pond Pavilion

What to expect: A program exploring insects and other small invertebrates that live in the park. Moderate walking on mostly level paved sidewalks, crushed granite gravel trails, and wooden boardwalks.

Bring: Water. Water fountain located near restrooms. SPF and bug spray recommended.

Wear: Lightweight layers, a hat, and comfortable hiking shoes.

Cost: FREE. Sheldon Lake State Park requires no permits or day-use fees. 

Registration not required, but large groups encouraged to email or call ahead of time.
