Join a ranger on this sci-fi inspired hike to learn more about Sheldon Lake’s trees and the force that connects us all, nature!
No lightsaber duels or intergalactic battles here, but there is something powerful hidden within the forests of East Texas. The trees at Sheldon Lake State Park tell a story of loss, growth, and tree-mendous potential. Witness the force of nature with Ranger Tori on this gentle-paced .8-mile hike under the canopy to learn more about Texas' native trees and there inspiring lives.
When: Saturday, May 4th, 10-11am
Where: Meet at Heron Plaza. Hike will be on the Pond Loop Trail
Distance: .8-mile round trip. Mostly flat surfaces, fine gravel paths.
Bring: Water. Water fountain located in Heron Plaza near restrooms.
Wear: Lightweight layers, a hat, and comfortable hiking shoes. SPF and bug spray recommended.
Cost: FREE. Sheldon Lake State Park requires no permits or day-use fees.
