Rainbow Trout Stocking
Ready to get your fish on?
Rainbow trout are back at Sheldon! Come catch and keep five fish per person per day while fish last. The Stocking will take place on the morning of January 8th and this event will continue until all of the fish are gone. We estimate that this event will conclude in early February.
Bait and tackle are not provided. Participants can only catch and keep rainbow trout, all other species will remain catch and release. The use of live bait during this event is prohibited.
When: Wednesday, January 8-Early February, Pond 1S
Where: Pond 1S
Distance: This is a stationary program that will take place at Pond 1S.
Bring: Bait, tackle and water. Water fountain located in Heron Plaza near restrooms.
Wear: Lightweight layers, a hat, and comfortable hiking shoes. SPF and bug spray recommended.
Cost: FREE. Sheldon Lake State Park requires no permits or day-use fees.
