Join us at the Stephen F. Austin State Park Nature Center to learn all about housewives and hussies of the 1830's!
How useful is a housewife? What about a hussy? Both terms can refer to a common household item that was designed to hold sewing tools to keep them on hand. Learn about the different types of housewives, the different names that have gone by and other tools that were useful to the sewist of the 1830s.
