Join us at the Stephen F. Austin State Park Nature Center to learn all about why San Felipe de Austin was burned to save a revolution.

THC logoOn March 29, 1836, the town of San Felipe de Austin was burned to the ground during the Runaway Scrape. Come learn the events leading up to the burning and ultimately why the town was destroyed by its own citizens. 

Time: 12:30 - 1:30 pm

Location: Nature Center

Cost: Included with daily entrance fee. Adults are $5 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass. Want to speed up your entry process? Reserve online in advance.
