Texas Pollinator BioBlitz (Self-Guided)

Mark your calendar and contribute to a statewide community science project. Observe, document, and share pollinators and nectar-rich plants at Stephen F. Austin State Park!

This iNaturalist project highlights Texas pollinators and the plants they depend on, which are a critical foundation for healthy ecosystems and our food supply. Participation is not limited to the park; you can also take part right from your own backyard.

When: October 10–26

Program Details:

  • This is a self-guided event.

  • Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to observe pollinators and nectar-producing plants, take photos, and share their findings.

  • Share your observations by posting a photo or video to iNaturalist, Instagram, or the event’s Facebook page using #TXPollinators.

  • Registered participants will receive regular emails with fun observation challenges and educational resources throughout the event.

Park Information:

  • Daily hours: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (unless staying overnight in a reserved cabin or campsite).

  • Please use the self-pay station (cash only) for daily entrance passes if arriving outside of office hours.

  • Headquarters office hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily and 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Cost: Included with daily entrance fee. Adults are $5 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.
