GOOD. Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 34.94 feet below pool. Bow fishing is excellent for gar. Keeper catfish are excellent with cut shad or shrimp in 3-10 feet of water. Trophy catfish are slow in the back of the creeks at night. Largemouth bass are scattered on hard bottoms with freshly flooded vegetation, hardwoods in the creek jigs or dropshots flukes. GOOD. Water stained; 79 degrees; 42.17 feet low. Fishing is consistent. Night catfishing is excellent at the Zapata County boat ramp and the state park in 10-20 feet of water using cut carp, tilapia or shad. Bigger fish are in the main lake channel. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 79 degrees; 40.25 feet low. Increasing wind patterns make some days harder than others. Black bass are good at appreciating the deep drops, brush, rocks, and covered areas in water depths 15-20 feet. Stay with deep crankbaits and thick worms. The crappie are good above brush. Catfish are good on live and prepped baits. Remember to stay on the Texas side unless you possess a Mexican Fishing License.

GOOD. Water very lightly stained; 84 degrees; 36.49’ low. There were some sweltering days this past week, and a few days with no wind. Those conditions are not ideal for Falcon. The low wind was great for black bass mainly with crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair to good and nice sized in brush piles, submerged concrete structures, and in timber. White bass are deep under black bass on crankbait. Catfish are fair in the deep spots with cut shad, or nightcrawlers. Remember to stay on the Texas side unless you possess a Mexican Fishing License.

Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. Mexican boat permits are no longer required.

Water fairly clear lower end, stained upper end; 85 degrees; 287.27'; Black bass to 5 pounds are fair on green pumpkin or watermelon green Carolina-rigged brush hogs, baby brush hogs, soft plastics, and topwaters in the Veleno area. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, shrimp, and nightcrawlers. The State Park and Zapata County ramps are both working, as are most of the Lodge and RV Park ramps. The El Tigre Island ramp is open to the public for a $3/person fee. The San Ignacio ramp is open only for small boats. Launching below the dam on the Rio Grande River is possible at both the Salineno and Chapeno access points. Mexican fishing licenses and boat permits are required to fish in Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico Fishing License whether fishing or not.

Water murky; 88 degrees; 47' low; Black bass are fair on shallow-running crankbaits, white spinnerbaits, and Texas- or Carolina-rigged soft plastics near rocky points, ridges, humps, and hardwoods. Striped bass are fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and silver spoons. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish are fair on cutbait, perch, and cheesebait. The large boat ramp at Falcon State Park is closed, but launching is possible off a point at the park, at the Zapata County Public Boat Ramp, and at Beacon Lodge. Both a Mexican fishing license and Mexican boat permit are required to fish the Mexican side of the lake.

Water fairly clear lower end, muddy upper end; 86 degrees; 50' low; Black bass are very good on watermelon/red and chartreuse pepper Carolina-rigged lizards off rocky points and ridges in 6 - 12 feet. Striped bass are fair on jigging spoons. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp. Launching areas open at the present time are Beacon Lodge, The Tigers, and the shoreline at the state park. Both a Mexican fishing license and Mexican boat permit are required to fish the Mexican side of the lake.

Water clear lower end - murky upper end; 85 degrees; 50' low; Black bass to 8 pounds are good on firetiger, red and chrome Norman Deep Little N's off rocky points in 4 - 14 feet. Striped bass are fair to good on jigging spoons in the lower half of the lake. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cutbait and shrimp dipped in stink bait. The Zapata County ramp is open, but caution is advised when navigating around the old Highway 83 Bridge in the Arroyo Veleno. Launching in Falcon State Park is off a rocky point and a 4 X 4 is recommended, but usually not required. Mexican licenses and boat permits are required to fish on the Mexican side of the lake.
