Falcon Fishing Report

Jun 26, 2024
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 46.61 feet below pool. The lake has risen 2-3 feet due to an influx of water from the Rio Salado with current running to marker 8. There continues to be limited launching at the Zapata County boat ramp, so most people are using the state park. There is no boat access from Arroyo Valeño to the main river channel, but this may change if water continues to rise. Catfish are excellent in 5-10 feet of water with fresh cut or live bait. Keeper catfish are in shallow timber in 3-5 feet of water with shrimp, stink bait or small shad. Alligator gar rod and reel is good with cut carp or tilapia. Bass are good in 8-20 feet of water on hard bottoms with plastic worms and crankbaits. Crappie are slow. Report by Ram Reyes, Ram Outdoors.
