Buchanan Fishing Report

Mar 27, 2024
EXCELLENT. Water slightly stained; 60 degrees; 25.00 feet below pool. Fishing remains excellent for striper and white bass. Stripers are biting live bait and jigging spoons in 14-45 feet of water. There has also been some limited topwater action early mornings in shallow water. The shad spawn is close with shad running the bank in a few areas. The action is quick, but this recent cold front may push the spawn back another week. White bass are extremely active, jigging spoons, live bait, trolling crank baits have been great producers in 5-30 feet of water. There has been bird activity over the last week at all times of the day. Report by Travis Holland, TH Fishing. Crappie continue to be good in 2-12 feet of water on chartreuse jigs. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service. Bass are starting to spawn and if in the right area, many catches can be had flipping trees in 2-5 feet of water. Just use a craw worm, fluke or worm in these areas and you can also throw moving baits like a spinnerbait, shallow crankbait or a jig in rock piles all over the lake. Report by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs.
