- GOOD. Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 2.23 feet low. The water is beginning to cool down, and we should see Fall fishing patterns coming soon. Largemouth bass are good with blue, black, or purple Texas-rigged plastic worms, grey flukes, white swimbaits, perch like crankbaits, and white bladed spinners. Topwater plugs and plastic frogs are effective early in the morning. Striped bass are good along the river channel with live bait and topwaters early in the day. White bass are good on swimbaits, slabs, and jigging spoons on main lake points, flats, and humps. Crappie are good on minnows and white/chartreuse jigs working brush piles and timber near deeper water. Channel catfish are good on live bait, nightcrawlers, and punch bait. Blue catfish are good on fresh cut bait and live bait.
