Calaveras Fishing Report

Jun 25, 2025
GREAT. Water stained, 91 degrees. Fishing has been excellent for redfish, with big schools congregating near the dam in 15-25 feet of water. Trolling with a variety of plastic baits, as well as gold and silver spoons, has been productive, with fish averaging 5-10 pounds. Redfish have also been spotted in the flats in 5-10 feet of water. Catfish are also excellent, with both channel and blue catfish found in huge schools all over the lake at depths of 15-25 feet. Stinkbait is currently the top choice, though shrimp and other fresh baits are also effective, with catfish averaging 5-25 pounds. Striper action has been slow, and black bass activity is very limited at this time. Report by Manny Martinez, Fishing With Manny.
