Meredith Fishing Report
- Jul 2, 2025
- GREAT. Water stained; 81 degrees; 44.67 feet below pool. Fishing has been excellent across the board this week. Sand bass are being caught all over the lake, with grey jig heads paired with pearl white grubs producing well. White jerkbaits, rattling shad, and live minnows are working great for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. Catfish action is also strong, especially in Harbor Bay and Bugbee, using shrimp, frozen shad, and cut bait. Crappie are biting well in the Sanford Yake area, off the docks, and in shallow waters around Bugbee and Blue West. Bluegill and perch are plentiful under docks and in shallow areas around the lake, with worms being the top choice. Walleye are hitting hard in the evening and overnight, with minnows, bottom bouncers with floating worm harnesses, pearl blue plastics, white crankbaits, and pink vibrating blades all producing solid results. Trout fishing has slowed down a bit, especially around Spring Canyon and the Stilling Basin. Report by Dave Wright, Wright-On Bait, Tackle and Watercraft Rental. Anticipate increased boater traffic this weekend as we celebrate our Nation’s Independence Day.
Zebra Mussel Alert To prevent the spread of zebra mussels, the law requires draining of water from boats and onboard receptacles when leaving or approaching public fresh waters. Get details.
