Palestine Fishing Report

Feb 14, 2024
GOOD. Water normal stain; 54-58 degrees; 0.50 feet above pool. Crappie are staging with most fish 8-18 feet. Spawn is starting and they are pushing up to the banks more and more everyday. Water temps 54-58 degrees. Bite is good on jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are in 2-10 feet of water and spawning now. Traditional plastics in crawfish and creature baits work best. Sandbass are pushing up the river and creeks to spawn as well. Bite is good on small bladed jigs. Report by Sam Parker, Freshwater Fishing Adventures. Lake level is rising rapidly but water is still below 60 degrees. The runoff current has turned the catfish bite on using cut bait and prepared stink baits along creek channels entering the lake. White bass bite has slowed down, due to flooded creeks and cold water, but should be better when runoff slows. Report by Jim Beggerly, Jim’s Fishing.
