Spence Fishing Report

Jul 24, 2024
SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees. 49.40 feet below pool. The fishing has been tough for black bass. Anglers are reporting success with plastics in the brush from 8-10 feet. The colors have been green pumpkin and motor oil. The baits have varied from creature baits to worms. I would recommend crankbaits in addition to the above such as the XD10 later in the morning. No report for crappie. Catfish reports are good using cut bait and shrimp. Anglers should try those baits using the Santee Cooper rig. This technique allows the bait to suspend from the bottom. Report by Bronte Guns and Tackle Pro Staff. Channel catfish continue to be excellent on roadbeds, old creek channels and throughout the lake on cheese bait, nightcrawlers and fresh cut bait. Report by Captain Michael Peterson, 4 Reel Fun Guide Service.
