Wildlife Viewing

Wildlife Viewing Permitted

Viewing wildlife is an enjoyable activity that is available in many of the Wildlife Management Areas of Texas.

The north Carl Frentress Unit is managed for wetland habitats and provides viewing opportunities for many wading birds, shorebirds and waterfowl. The south Trinity Unit is predominately bottomland hardwoods and provides important habitat for many neotropical migratory birds and white-tailed deer. A bird list for the area is available at the area headquarters.
