Wildlife Viewing
Viewing wildlife is an enjoyable activity that is available in many of the Wildlife Management Areas of Texas.
Visitors may enjoy nature viewing, bird watching, photography, hiking and the general beauty of nature. Nature trails have been developed that provide visitors with the opportunity to explore an oak/hackberry motte and adjacent grasslands. Many of the lingering neotropical migrants birds that have been recorded on the Freeport CBC were found in the live oak woodlands along these trails.
The Justin Hurst WMA is one of many wildlife viewing sites along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail.
