To enter the WMA Units, visitors 17 years of age and older must have an Annual Public Hunting (APH) or Limited Public Use (LPU) Permit. Visit the Information Stations at the WMA units and use the kiosks to see closure dates. Visitors and Hunters must register each day when they enter and leave the WMA units using eOSR on the Texas Hunt and Fish App.
Hiking
Hiking is an enjoyable activity that is available in many of the Wildlife Management Areas of Texas. Since potable water is not available on many of the Wildlife Management Areas, it is a good idea to bring plenty of drinking water.
Hiking on Las Palomas WMA
Visitors may hike on the WMA units during daytime hours. There are no restrooms or drinking water on the WMA units. Visitors should bring your own drinking water. At the Anacua unit there are designated walking paths. At the Longoria Unit there is a wheelchair accessible trail.
