Wildlife Viewing Permitted

Viewing wildlife is an enjoyable activity that is available in many of the Wildlife Management Areas of Texas.

The Island is a preserve for seasonal waterbird rookeries. Predominant species found are egrets, herons, and cormorants.

Camping is available at Purtis Creek State Park and Fairfield Lake State Park.
