Explore the Outdoors with "Women in the Wild" Workshop

ROCKPORT — Women interested in the outdoors are invited to attend the second annual Women in the Wild workshop, a weekend-long event being held by the Rockport chapter of the Texas Outdoors Woman Network (TOWN) on May 1-2. The event is designed to help familiarize women with the various outdoor activities in the Coastal Bend and encourage them to participate in a fun and safe outdoor environment.

AUSTIN — A four-year, multi-agency investigation that began when two Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Game Wardens received information about possible stolen property on two Northeast Texas ranches has ended with federal prison sentences for a father and son who pled guilty to transporting stolen property and wildlife trafficking.

Lake Fork Public Meeting Update

TYLER — On Thursday, February 4, 2010, the Wood County Industrial Commission (WCIC) and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will be hosting a public meeting at Lake Fork. This "State of the Lake" meeting will feature presentations by TPWD Inland Fisheries biologists, local TPWD Law Enforcement, and the Sabine River Authority.

Two Harris’ Hawks Seized in North Carolina Returning Home to Texas

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A pair of Harris’ hawks, unlawfully captured in Texas and brought to North Carolina, are being treated to a plane ride back to their south Texas home today, the culmination of nearly two months of effort that included law enforcement officers, raptor biologists, and Delta Air Lines.
