DALLAS – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Texas Game Wardens are partnering to invite media to attend a Memorial Day press conference launching the Safe Summer campaign—a seasonal initiative focused on preventing impaired driving and promoting safety on roads and waterways throughout the summer months.

AUSTIN— Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announces it has helped secure a 10-year commitment of 200 acre-feet per year of surface water to help conserve Big Cypress Bayou in northeast Texas.
AUSTIN — The private recreational angler red snapper season in federal waters opens June 1. Red snapper fishing is open year-round in Texas state waters. Bag and size limits for federal and state waters will remain unchanged.
AUSTIN— Texas experienced an increase in hunting accidents with last year, with 18 non-fatal hunting accidents and one fatality reported in the 2024 Texas Hunting Accident Report.
ABILENE— Renovations of the historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)-era pool at Abilene State Park are underway and expected to continue through the summer, leading the site to remain closed to the public.
