AUSTIN – Despite the landfall of Hurricane Beryl, Texas Game Wardens worked hard to keep Texans safe as they celebrated the Fourth of July on the water.

AUSTIN – As temperatures continue to rise, many Texans and out-of-state visitors are making plans to cool off on one of the many pristine waterbodies across the state. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) reminds those on the water to follow basic boating safety precautions over the holiday weekend.

AUSTIN – This past Memorial Day weekend, Texas Game Wardens patrolled Texas’ many waterbodies and assisted fellow first responders with rescues and recoveries due to strong storms and extreme heat. Wardens noted a decrease in boating incidents and citations filed, but an increase in drownings and warnings issued.
AUSTIN – The Texas tradition of Free Fishing Day returns this Saturday, June 1, at public waterways across the state. Each year on the first Saturday in June, Texans and our visitors can pack their tackle boxes, get their fishing poles ready and go fish on any public waterway in the state without a fishing license.
AUSTIN – Just in time for one of the busiest boating weekends of the year, Texas Game Wardens and agency partners are celebrating National Safe Boating Week, May 18-24. The week-long campaign emphasizes the importance of safe boating practices and the use of boating safety equipment.

May is National Water Safety Month and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) reminds boaters to follow some simple yet effective safety precautions to prevent accidents and save lives.
