AUSTIN —Una primavera lluviosa y un comienzo de verano dieron lugar a una buena temporada de anidación en la mayor parte del estado y a poblaciones casi récord de paloma huilota y de paloma ala blanca en grandes porciones de Texas. Los cazadores podrían encontrar un aumento significativo de las poblaciones de palomas en el campo cuando se abra la temporada 2024 el 1 de septiembre.

Strong Mourning and White-Winged Populations Forecast for Dove Season

AUSTIN — A rainy spring and early summer led to a good nesting season through most of the state and near record high populations of mourning and white-wing doves across large portions of Texas. Hunters could encounter significantly increased dove populations in the field when the 2024 season opens Sept. 1.

Texas Game Wardens See Reduction in Boating Accidents, Rise in Drownings During Memorial Day Weekend

AUSTIN – This past Memorial Day weekend, Texas Game Wardens patrolled Texas’ many waterbodies and assisted fellow first responders with rescues and recoveries due to strong storms and extreme heat. Wardens noted a decrease in boating incidents and citations filed, but an increase in drownings and warnings issued.
