TPWD Seeks Input on Proposed Changes to Spotted Seatrout Bag, Size Limits

AUSTIN- The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeks public input on proposed rules which, if passed, would change bag and size limits for spotted seatrout on the Texas coast. The proposed rules would reduce the spotted seatrout bag limit to three fish and restrict the allowable size to 15-20 inches, with one fish over 25 inches allowed daily.

TPWD Seeks Input on Texas Migratory Game Bird Regulation Proposals for 2023-24

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) 2023–24 proposed migratory game bird regulations mirror last year’s season lengths, timing and daily bag limits. No changes were required due to federal regulatory modifications for season length or daily bag limits. In addition, staff are not proposing any substantive changes to any migratory game bird hunting season.

AUSTIN — Los cambios a los Reglamentos de Pesca en Agua Dulce para la temporada 2023-24 propuestos por el Departamento de Parques y Vida Silvestre de Texas se enfocan en simplificar y aclarar las reglas relacionadas con la pesca en aguas dentro de los parques públicos, particularmente los Lagos para Pesca en la Comunidad (CFL por sus siglas en inglés para Community Fishing Lakes).  Los cambios adicionales pudieran eliminar excepciones innecesarias y aclarar los límites de los cuerpos de agua.

TPWD Sets Public Meetings to Gather Input on Oyster Reef Closures

AUSTIN- The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking public input on proposed regulation changes to prohibit the harvest of oysters permanently and temporarily within certain reef areas. These proposals include the permanent prohibition of oyster harvest in Carlos Bay, Mesquite Bay and Ayres Bay (Mesquite Bay complex) and the temporary prohibition of oyster harvest between one and two years for new reefs recently constructed in TX-24 in San Antonio Bay, TX-6 in Galveston Bay and TX-4 in Galveston Bay.
