Game Wardens Lead Terrorism and Disaster Response Training

KILLEEN, Texas — Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens, in partnership with state and federal homeland security agencies and others, led a terrorism response exercise at TPWD’s Parrie Haynes Ranch south of here May 10-12.

Man Pleads Guilty in Deer-Trapping Case

AUSTIN, Texas — A six-month long investigation conducted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Special Operations Wildlife Crimes Unit came to a close during the last few days with Larry Grimland of the Dallas area being charged with 20 counts of illegally trapping wild whitetail deer from his Bosque County ranch.

Bass Pro Shops’ Johnny Morris Gives $650,000 to Freshwater Fisheries Center

ATHENS, Texas–Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris presented a check for $650,000 to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center at a banquet in Grapevine April 16.

Katy Coach Uses Grant To Take Students Fishing

HOUSTON — On May 6, more than 100 Golbow Elementary School students will leave the classroom behind, pick up fishing poles, and learn about nature and the outdoors through hands-on experience. It’s an example of how conservation proponents statewide are trying to introduce urban youth to the outdoor environment through fishing.
